Damage Claims Policy

If something goes wrong, here's exactly what to do — and what we'll do.

How to file a claim

  1. Note any visible damage on the Bill of Lading at the time of delivery.
  2. Contact us within 48 hours at hello@iomovingsmiths.com or (443) 538-4887.
  3. Send photos and a brief description; we'll respond within 3 business days.

Coverage options

What's excluded

Items not on the inventory, items packed by the customer (PBO), perishable goods, cash, jewelry, and other valuables we explicitly recommend the customer transport themselves. Damage from improper customer-supplied packing is excluded; if you'd like our crew to repack, we'll quote it before move day.

Resolution timeline

We aim to resolve all claims within 30 days of receipt. Most are resolved within 10 business days.
